Ken named a Geochemistry Fellow by GS-EAG

Dr. Ken Buesseler has been named a Geochemistry Fellow by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry for his sustained and innovative contributions to the cycling of radionuclides in the ocean and their application to the study of the biological pump. This is a great honor, for which a ceremony will be held at the Goldschmidt conference in Honolulu, Hawaii July 10-15, 2022.

More information is available in this WHOI Press Release and on the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society sites which both show all award recipients for 2022 as well as previous years.

“I am honored by this recognition. As we continue to confront the growing climate crisis, we need to access every tool possible. The distribution of radioactive elements in the ocean can tell us more about the ocean’s role in climate and how it is changing over time,” said Buesseler.
